What do we do to reconnect to your inner self? I read books, listen to spiritual podcasts, and just recently when the weather here in Buffalo finally got warm enough to venture outside and not shatter into a thousand pieces, go for long walks. Now when I say long, I mean 3-5mile walks. I get back to my center, by putting I shoes and connecting with the pavement, for long periods of time. The outside air comes into my lungs, and I feel renewed. I put on a podcast, and just walk, and walk, and walk. It is so soul refreshing I tell you. After being cooped up all winter, my body needs the exercise and the movement. After a very long walk, I come back to my room and feel more like Billy Flood than ever before. The physicality of it, and the warm sun breaking out sweat beads onto my skin, revitalizes me and breaks the hold of winter on my psyche.
